Additional Clinic Location!
I apologize for the lack of posts in the last little while! May and June have been busy months for me in both my naturopathic practice and in my position at Mobi Games Inc! The latest development is as the title of this post suggests... an additional clinic location! I'm super excited to announce that effective June 23, 2017, I will be providing naturopathic care to the community surrounding Vaughan, ON at The Pain and Wellness Centre (The PWC). I will continue practicing at TOSRAC in Toronto, but have decided that I couldn't miss out on this amazing opportunity to be a part of a team that will essentially be pioneers in integrative medicine in Ontario. I'll go into a bit more detail on the clinic concept in a later post, but here is a summary from The PWC's website:
"The Pain & Wellness Centre opened its doors in September 2014. It is a patient-centred, interdisciplinary specialty clinic that aims to treat as well as prevent pain and maintain wellness. It is comprehensive, uses the whole person approach, and offers choices regarding treatments. It bridges eastern and western medicine, always using best practice guidelines and evidence based treatments, and offers multiple programs and services under one roof.
In October of 2016, The Pain & Wellness Centre became the first ever Community Based Interdisciplinary Pain Centre to be funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (as a matter of fact across Canada), alongside 16 hospital based academic pain clinics. The Centre is the Demonstration Project of MOHLTC, as the template for future publicly funded community based clinics that connect academic hospitals with the communities at large.
By using the framework of the MOHLTC Ontario Comprehensive Pain Strategy, The Pain & Wellness Centre services a large catchment area that includes the regions of York, Peel, Durham, Dufferin, and Simcoe, and further receives a large number of referrals from Northern Ontario."
Basically, it's the future of pain medicine and along the lines of what I've always wanted to do in medicine.
