Are ND visits covered by OHIP?

• Currently, OHIP does not cover ND visits.  However, extended health benefits typically do.  Each insurance plan is different so make sure to check your coverage with your insurer.  Also, be sure to ask whether direct billing is possible with your plan! 

 

Does Dr. Cho-D'Souza accept insurance?

• It actually depends on YOUR plan.  Visits with NDs are often covered by extended health benefits, but each plan covers a different amount per visit and/or per year.  Lab tests and supplements are not included in visit costs and may or may not be covered by your plan.  Please check with your insurer to see what you have available.

Does Dr. Cho-D'Souza see patients outside of the Greater Toronto Area?

• The College of Naturopaths of Ontario requires naturopaths and their patients to be located in Ontario at the time of the visit.  This means that you can reside in another province/country, but must be in Ontario at the time of your visit (in person or virtual).  If you are in Ontario but not the GTA, virtual consults are still be an option.

 

Can NDs direct bill?

• Dr. Cho-D'Souza is registered with Telus Health so if your insurance company/plan has enabled it, many companies like Manulife, Sun Life, and Canada Life allow NDs to direct bill.  Please bring your insurance information with you to each visit if you would like to direct bill.

How long are visits with Dr. Cho-D'Souza and what are her fees?​​

• The initial visit is 1 hour long and follows up are either 30 minutes or 45 minutes depending on what is going on.

How much are labs with Dr. Cho-D'Souza?

• Each test has a different cost associated with it.  To find out how much specific tests cost, please contact Dr. Cho-D'Souza.

How many visits do I need?

• Each person is different.  Some may only need a few visits to get max results while others may benefit from weekly acupuncture for a period of time.  After the initial assessment, you should have an idea of visit frequency.

What kinds of conditions does Dr. Cho-D'Souza treat?

• Dr. Cho-D'Souza sees patients with a variety of concerns.  Her practice tends to focus around digestive health, chronic pain, weight management, stress management, and hormone balancing.  If you have a specific question about your diagnosis, ask Dr. Cho-D'Souza.
